Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG)

From Roissy to Porte de la Villette, around 1 hour by public transport and 30 minutes by car

  Subway 7 direction La Courneuve (of the North), station Criméee (for the hotel) or Porte de la Villette (for the Cité des Sciences)
• By train: (to prefer) (route and map here, cost: €9.25)
  Follow signs for RER B direction Paris,
  Leave it at station Gare du Nord,
  Subway 7 direction La Courneuve (of the North), station Criméee (for the hotel) or Porte de la Villette (for the Cité des Sciences)
  The ticket you'll buy at the airport is valid for the subway (metro in French) although you'll need to revalidate it.
• By cab (taxi): about €52 to €68. 22 minutes.

Orly airport (ORL)

From Orly to Porte de la Villette, around 1 hour by public transport and 30 minutes by car.

  Leave it at station Gare du Nord,

  You cannot use your bus ticket for the subway
• By train:
  Orlyval to Anthony
  RER R direction Aéroport Charles de Gaulle or Mitry-Claye

The TGV (high speed train) arrives:

• at Gare de l’Est from Germany: 10 minutes by subway,
• at Gare du Nord from England (Eurostar) and Belgium/Nederlands (Thalys): 15 minutes,
• at Gare de Lyon (from South East of France): 40 minutes.
• at Gare Saint-Lazare (from North West of France) and Gare Montparnasse (from West of France): 30 minutes,

By subway

Plan your journey using the ViaNavigo web site or thie subway / RER map.

Follow line 7, direction La Courneuve - 8 mai 1945, station Porte de la Villette for Cité des Sciences, station Crimée fot the hotel.

By buses

Subway is faster and more reliable, due to traffic.

PC1, 2 and 3, Bus 75, 139, 150, 152, 249 and Noctambus N42, Stop at Porte de la Villette.

By bicycle

Paris has an amazing and cheap public bike rental system: Vélib'. You buy tickets with a credit card at stations at every 200 meters in Paris.

Cost:

• An initial fee for access to the service:
  • 1.70 € for 24 hours
  • 8 € for 7 days
• The first half hour is free. Then each additional half-hour is 1 €, 2 €, 4 €, 4 €, 4 €… So if you do only short rides, this is free.

By car

Use the wiki if you have seats in your car or if you want to join a group.

Drive highway A1 (from Lille), A4 (from Strasbourg), A6 (from Lyon), A20, A71 and A10 (from Toulouse), A811, A11 and A10 (from Nantes).
You can access a fee paying car park either from boulevard MacDonald or from quai de la Charente.
