Renaming this event
This event being called a *hackathon* sets expectations of what kind of event it is. There is now a fairly well-established definition of "hackathon", and the QAH is not one of those.
The last 2 years I've had to explain this when talking to (potential) sponsors. It would certainly be easier if it were called "The Perl QA Workshop", or something like that.
I don't have a really strong desire to see this changed, but I think we should consider it.
